So I moved in with my boyfriend a few days ago and we spent christmas together. I’m feeling so happy right now…everything just feels so…right.

This was my first Christmas where I didn’t sit down and eat with my own family, and instead we ate at his parent’s place. It was kind of overwhelming at first, I’m used to seeing a turkey, some mashed potatoes, macaroni salad, that’s it really.

Well his family takes it to a whole new level. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, macaroni salad, chocolate pudding, crescent rolls, biscuits, brownies, meatloaf, traditional salad, yellow rice, corn on the cob, peas. All the food.

I think they expected me to eat a little of everything, but really I wasn’t used to all of that. Anyway, after we exchanged gifts and said goodbye, hubby (he likes it when I call him that <3) and I headed home. On the road I was feeling so tired, I thought I was going to just throw myself in bed and pass out.

And then my baby did something so amazing…I’m still smiling thinking about it. He pulled up to the driveway, turned on his car radio and ipod and put our song. At this point I’m wide awake and looking right at him, wondering where he’s going with this all of a sudden. He gently takes my hand, looks into my eyes, and softly tells me how much I mean to him. Just the way he said it, his eyes, the stillness around us, the quit spot with just our song on low in the background. I started to cry it made me so happy.

Then…he reached into his inner coat pocket and pulled out a small ring. Guys, my heart jumped into my throat, I was smiling so much and in tears at the same time. He proposed to me right there with a beautiful diamond ring, I don’t know when he even found the time to get it, we’ve been so busy and together.

Of course I said yes! Ahh…I just had to share that. I’m so happy right now, 2012 will be an amazing year!
